Design Thinking: Emotion Mapping
I took a semester course in the School of Architecture at UVA, under Professor Elgin Cleckley, where we were faced with real world design problems that needed creative solutions. For this project, we were tasked to create a map of our day that combined elements of tracking our mood, where we were geographically, the weather, the time, and so on. Utilizing Illustrator, I wanted to focus my map around a more artistic element in the people’s faces that would serve as emotive icons and color coding that followed through the rest of my map and tracking visuals that coordinated with my mood. Colors are extremely important throughout this design, as well as line weight, where each stroke and color has dual meanings signified in the legends.
