Design Thinking: Ratatouille

I took a semester course in the School of Architecture at UVA, under Professor Elgin Cleckley, where we were faced with real world design problems that needed creative solutions. For this project, we were given three Julia Child recipes and were asked to choose one and create directions for this recipe but with no words and only using one color. I chose purple because I felt that it had the most versatility in hues and tones without being an eyesore or too dark—you were able to see the details best and Ratatouille is an eggplant based recipe so it worked out very well. I wanted it to be as simple as possible so that the recipe would be as easy to follow in all of its complicated construction and used Illustrator to create all of my icons and imagery throughout the design.
